My hubby loves peanut butter cookies and I just got some cute heart shaped cookie cutters. I want make him some heart shaped peanut butter cookies to send them to him in Iraq but I don't know if there are any recipes that would allow me to roll out peanut butter cookie dough and make them heart shaped...because of texture and what not. Help! Are there any recipes for peanut butter cookies that will allow me to make shapes with cookie cutters?
Well, it may not be that suitable for cutting shapes in, but you could try this:
1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1 egg
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit on a pan covered in aluminum foil (it doesn't stick this way, and it much harder to burn the cookies) for 10 minutes. It is a very simple recipe. I'm horrible at baking, and these came out perfect!!!!
When you send them to your husband, wrap them in foil again to keep them warm. Good luck to you and your husband! Are there any recipes for peanut butter cookies that will allow me to make shapes with cookie cutters?
It may be easier to buy a refrigerated roll of ready-made cookie dough (like Toll House or Pillsbury). Also, ready-made dough may have a few more preservatives in it that may help out the cookies during their trip to Iraq.
Good Luck!
