What are some recipes that use or ideas on how to use leftover mashed potatoes?

I have about a gallon size container full of mashed potatoes and I don't know what to do with them. Any suggestions or ideas/recipes?

Thank you! What are some recipes that use or ideas on how to use leftover mashed potatoes?
鈥?Recycle leftover mashed potatoes by placing them in a buttered baking dish and top with a mixture of buttered bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese. Bake at 375 degrees F. until warmed and top is browned, about 30 minutes.

鈥?For calorie and fat-control, use fat-free chicken or vegetable broth in place of milk products in mashed potatoes.

鈥?Leftover mashed potatoes make a wonderful thickener for soups, stews, and sauces.

鈥?Most root vegetables are great candidates for potato mashing partners. Try mixing potatoes with sweet potatoes, yams, parsnips, rutabagas, turnips, celery root, carrots, onions, garlic, or whatever sounds good to you. Cook and mash together.

鈥?Likewise, your favorite herbs give mashed potatoes a gourmet touch. Add the chopped herbs to the hot mashed potatoes and gently fold in.

鈥?Leftover mashed potatoes can be frozen in an airtight container or ziptop bag for up to ten months.

鈥?Save the potato cooking water to add to yeast breads. The yeast feeds on the starch. Leftover mashed potatoes also make great bread.

鈥?Substitute mashed potatoes for flour in your favorite pancake recipe for potato pancakes. Add sauteed minced minced onions or onion powder for added flavor.

鈥?Do not store raw potatoes in the refrigerator. Cold turns the starches to sugar.

鈥?One pound or 3 medium-sized potatoes will make 2 cups mashed potatoes.

鈥?Potatoes should be cut into uniform slices or cubes so that all cook evenly.

鈥?Begin cooking with potatoes completely submersed in cold salted water.

鈥?After draining, return potatoes to pot and shake over heat to remove any remaining moisture before mashing or ricing.

鈥?Mash potatoes to desired consistency before adding any liquids. Once you add liquid, it sets the texture.

鈥?When leaving the skins on, be sure to cut the potatoes in smaller pieces so you don't end up with large chunks of skin.

鈥?To add a smoky flavor to mashed potatoes, add a smoked ham hock, slice of bacon or sausage to the pot and bring to a boil. After cooking for 5 minutes, add potatoes and cook until potatoes are fork tender. Pick out the meat, drain potatoes and proceed with mashing. Save the drained liquid and meat to make soup.

鈥?Use mashed potatoes as a decorative yet tasty touch to baked casseroles. Add a lightly beaten egg to the mashed potatoes and force through a piping bag on top of the dish before bakingWhat are some recipes that use or ideas on how to use leftover mashed potatoes?
Sheppards pie!

mmmm sheppards pie is an excellent way to get rid of left over mashed potatoes.

Just take whatever veggies you like, mix with a little salt and pepper and line a baking dish with cooked ground beef, then veggies and then add the potatoes on top to cover. Bake in over 350 Degress until the potatoes are a little brown on the top.

I cant really think of anything else :(
You can make potato cakes - just add a couple of eggs to your potatoes, dust with flour or a little cornmeal and fry in butter and/or olive oil.

Easy Shepherd's Pie Start to Finish: 30 minutes

Ingredients

1 22-ounce package frozen mashed potatoes

1-3/4 cups milk

1 10-ounce package frozen mixed vegetables (2 cups)

1 pound ground beef, ground raw turkey, or ground raw chicken

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon dried minced onion

1 10-3/4-ounce can condensed tomato soup or one 10-3/4-ounce can reduced-sodium condensed tomato soup

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (2 ounces)

Directions

1. Prepare potatoes according to package directions using 4 cups of the frozen potatoes and the milk. Meanwhile, run cold water over frozen mixed vegetables to separate. In a large skillet cook ground beef, turkey, or chicken over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain off any fat.

2. Stir in vegetables, water, and onion. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in soup, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Return to boiling. Drop potatoes in mounds on top of the hot mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 5 minutes more or until heated through. Makes 6 servings.

I also mix mashed potatoes with an egg, seasonings, a bit of flour, shape into patties, dip into bread or cracker crumbs, and fry in oil.
Make some into patties and fry them. It is really good. Just add some salt and pepper, and if you ike onions, dice a few and mix in the potatoes.
My dad makes fried M.P. patties
I used to take the mash potatoes you can mix in some nice cheese like gruyer and cheddar and heat them up alittle to make them soft. I used hot water to heat them up. Put them in a piping bag and make mountains with it (think of the top of soft serve ice cream cone.) Bake it in the oven till it gets a nice toasty golden to it. What an awesome side dish. People will think your a genious.
add some garlic powder and parsley to give them a different spin.
ok this is the most delicious thing ever. For every 2 cups of mashers, mix in an egg and a tablespoon of flour. then drop spoonfulls of the mizture into a very hot pay generously greased with butter and flatten out with a spatual. good for about 5 mins or until crispy and golden on both sides. eat them with applesauce it is amazing
