Just plain rice and sausage sounds good to me.
But maybe add something to the rice. Also maybe some mashed potatoes. Some sort of vegetable; peas or corn, perhaps.What kind of recipes can I use to mix smoked sausages and rice together?
Smothered sausage with gravy over rice. It's a cajun dish.
2 lbs fresh cased sausage (your choice)
2 bell peppers, chopped
2 onions, chopped
3 ribs celery, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp each, black, white, cayenne peppers
1/2 cup parsley
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
Cover sausage in water in heavy skillet. Let cook until all water evaporates.
Continue cooking until sausage is browned.
Pour off any fat
Add onions, bell pepper, celery, salt, 3 peppers and add one cup water and scrape bottom of pan.
Cover and reduce heat to simmer for 45 minutes.
Remove sausages and let pan juices sit for 10 minutes to allow any grease to rise to top. Skim and dsicard any grease.
If thicker gravy is desired, add small amount of roux or cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup water.
Return to heat and cook for additional 10 minutes
Add sausage ,green onion and parsley. and let cook for about three minutes.
Or BBQ grilled smoked sausage and have smoked rice in the side.

1 Onion; chopped
1 can (10-oz) cream of chicken soup
1 cup Chicken broth
1 teaspoon Liquid smoke
1 teaspoon Garlic salt
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups Cooked rice
Melt butter in heavy skillet. Add celery and onion. Simmer until celery and onion look clear. Add soup, broth, liquid smoke, garlic, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Add cooked rice and mix. Pour into casserole and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. This dish can be frozen and baked later.
Here's an easy one for your:
1 lb. smoked sausage
1 box wild brown rice
1 sm. can mushrooms
1 green bell pepper
1 sm. onion
Dash of garlic powder
Dash of crushed red pepper (optional)
Mozzarella cheese
Dice mushrooms, bell pepper and onion. Saute in frying pan with garlic and red pepper. Slice smoked sausage into bite size pieces. Combine with vegetable mixture. Cook together for 10 minutes on simmer. Cook rice according to directions. Combine all ingredients together and cover with cheese.
They are actually good if you put them a crockpot and let them heat up slowly with either a BBQ sauce or a Sweet-n-Sour sauce. It makes a great appitizer for partys.
sounds like you want to make gumbo, just throw everything in it.
